About The Position

Merakey is seeking a mission-driven, compassionate, and reliable Direct Support Professional to work in its IDD Division in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The DSP supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with daily living activities and helps them build independence, social and communication skills, and achieve personal goals. The position includes personal care, housekeeping, and community engagement, and involves acting as a mentor, coach, and advocate. No prior experience is required; paid training is provided. The listed pay rate is $18.50 per hour, with day shifts available.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have a reliable personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
Assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
Support life skills development, including household tasks and social skills.
Provide community support and transportation.
Promote health, safety, and well-being, including medication support as trained.
Complete required documentation, progress notes, and service logs.
Help individuals build independence and develop social and communication skills.
Support individuals with daily living activities and community engagement.
Help individuals achieve their personal goals and serve as a mentor, coach, and advocate.
