Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Entry-Level Human Services
About The Position
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll support individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in a residential group home setting. You’ll help people live safe, fulfilling lives while building trusting relationships that encourage independence and personal choice. No two days are the same, and each day offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Paid training is provided. DDS Medication Certification can be obtained after hire if not already held. Pay is $19.28 per hour, with an additional $0.50 per hour for employees with DDS Medication Certification.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Connecticut Driver’s License.
- Ability to obtain DDS Medication Certification, CPR, and First Aid.
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living skills, including personal care, meals, and routines.
- Support medical needs and appointments.
- Follow individualized support and behavior plans.
- Encourage community involvement and social engagement.
- Complete routine overnight safety checks for overnight staff.
- Work collaboratively as part of a compassionate, supportive team.
