About The Position

Sunrise is a private not-for-profit organization that serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through an individualized approach focused on each person's needs. The Direct Support Professional Lead provides support, assistance, and supervision to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they can live valued lives in the community. The role helps individuals work toward their goals while protecting their rights, health, safety, and well-being and promoting independence and choice. The position pays $18.00 per hour and will remain open until filled.

Requirements

Successfully complete required pre-employment background and drug screenings.
Possess a valid driver's license with all necessary endorsements.
Have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
Possess basic computer skills.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent if required by the work location.
Have at least one year of human services field experience if required by the work location.

Responsibilities

Identify and report suspected abuse or violations of an individual's rights.
Provide support, assistance, and supervision to meet individuals' needs and goals according to their plans.
Ensure individuals' training, behavior, and support programs are implemented and documented in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Protect the health, safety, and well-being of individuals at all times.
Provide a positive, reinforcing environment that promotes independence and choice.
Follow positioning schedules and use proper equipment and assistive devices according to plan.
Provide the necessary level of assistance for appropriate diet, texture, and equipment.
Ensure homes, outside areas, and vehicles are well maintained and organized.
Perform other duties as assigned.
As a mandated reporter, report any instances of abuse, neglect, or exploitation that the employee is involved in or witnesses.
