About The Position

The Direct Support Professional Lead provides support, assistance, and supervision to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, enabling them to live valued lives in the community. The role assists the Residential Program Director with supervision, staff scheduling, appointments, and operational needs. It helps ensure individualized training, behavior, and support programs are implemented and documented in accordance with regulatory requirements, while protecting individuals’ health, safety, and well-being and promoting independence and choice. The role also supports ongoing compliance and helps maintain homes, outdoor areas, and vehicles.

Requirements

Successfully complete required pre-employment background and drug screenings.
Possess a valid driver’s license with all necessary endorsements and at least 3 years of driving experience.
Possess basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Assist the Residential Program Director in providing supervision to meet individuals’ needs and goals according to their plans.
Ensure individuals’ training, behavior, and support programs are implemented and documented in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Protect individuals’ health, safety, and well-being at all times.
Provide a positive, reinforcing environment that promotes independence and choice.
Assist the Residential Program Director with staff scheduling, doctors’ appointments, vehicle maintenance, and grocery shopping as assigned.
Assist with monitoring ongoing compliance with agency directives, licensing standards, and policies and procedures.
Ensure homes, outside areas, and vehicles are well maintained and organized.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Report any instances of abuse, neglect, or exploitation that the employee is involved in or witnesses, as a mandated reporter.
