About The Position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, you’ll help individuals live their best lives—whether that means mastering a new recipe, exploring the neighborhood, learning new skills, and investing in their success. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Covid Vaccinated
Must have Valid New York State Driver’s License, and be willing to drive as directed by the employer
Must be certified in: CPR/First Aid
Must be certified in: AMAP (meds)
Must be certified in: SCIP-R (crisis management)
A big heart, clear communication skills, and a can-do attitude!

Nice To Haves

1+ year working with people with developmental disabilities
Experience in residential or health-related settings
Strong teamwork and documentation skills

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with goals including independent living activities, personal care, meal preparation, academics and work readiness.
Support individuals in participating in community activities and recreational outings.
Implement individualized service plans and behavioral support plans.
Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes independence and self-esteem.
Ensure the safety and well-being of people supported at all times.
