About The Position

ViaQuest Healthcare Central provides quality support and services to individuals with developmental disabilities in intermediate care facilities (ICF/group homes). The Direct Support Professional provides direct care and support, with the goal of fostering individuals’ independence, choice, and empowerment while ensuring their health and safety. The role may include household tasks, meal preparation, personal care, companionship, training new hires, and assisting with shift coverage. Paid training is provided, including CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration courses and certifications.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Motor vehicle record must meet stated requirements, including no OVI/DUI, reckless operation, or speeding violations more than 20 MPH over the posted limit; no more than two moving violations in the last two years or more than five points.
• Reliable vehicle with active insurance.
• Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and assist individuals as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities while promoting independence, choice, and empowerment and ensuring health and safety.
• Administer site training to new hires.
• Assist with shift coverage as needed.
• Supervise, teach, and assist individuals in all aspects of their lives.
• Complete household tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Provide personal care assistance.
• Provide companion care and caregiving.
