This role involves providing direct support and assistance to individuals in accordance with their service or program plans. Key responsibilities include aiding with socialization, behavioral development, personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community orientation, shopping, financial management, citizenship, and other daily living activities. The position also requires accurate documentation of progress and activities, maintaining confidentiality, completing billing documentation, assisting with money management, and ensuring the safety of individuals' funds and property. A crucial aspect of the role is maintaining healthy and professional relationships with individuals, their families, guardians, and case managers, while implementing Network Customer Service Standards. Reporting of alleged abuse or neglect, as well as medical, behavioral, and other incidents, is mandatory according to internal and external standards. The role also emphasizes respecting the rights of persons being served and practicing universal precautions. In healthcare, responsibilities may include accompanying individuals to medical appointments, administering and documenting medications if assigned, monitoring health, communicating with nursing staff or supervisors, and operating medical equipment. Dietary planning and meal preparation according to planned menus and special diets are also part of the role. Maintenance duties include transporting individuals, driving safely, ensuring proper use of vehicle safety equipment, performing housekeeping, maintaining a safe environment, and reporting hazards or equipment needing repair. The employee may also perform minor repairs and yard maintenance. A stipend is provided for using a personal cell phone for business purposes.
