The Direct Support Life Skills Trainer role is within the PEDS program and involves providing direct support and assistance to individuals in accordance with their service or program plans. This includes aiding with socialization, behavioral development, personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community orientation, shopping, financial management, citizenship, and other activities of daily living. The position requires accurate documentation of progress and activities, maintaining confidentiality, and timely completion of billing documentation. Responsibilities also extend to assisting with money management, maintaining professional relationships with individuals and their support networks, reporting any instances of alleged abuse or neglect, and respecting the rights of individuals served. Healthcare duties may include accompanying individuals to medical appointments, administering and documenting medications if assigned, monitoring health, and preparing meals according to dietary needs. Maintenance tasks involve transporting individuals, ensuring vehicle safety, performing housekeeping duties, making minor repairs, and maintaining safe walkways. The role may require the use of a personal cell phone for business purposes, with a stipend provided.
