About The Position

The Direct Support Associate provides support and guidance to people served as they learn and develop daily living skills and participate in life activities, helping them live as independently as possible. The role involves creating opportunities for people to learn, grow, and discover; supporting them in identifying and achieving their personal goals; and monitoring their comfort and safety while meeting their medical, nutritional, and personal care needs. The associate also provides emotional support and assists with housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry.

Requirements

• A desire to make a positive difference in people's lives; no experience is needed, and training is provided.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid U.S. driver's license, where applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective, clear written and verbal communication.
• Strong time management and ability to manage multiple responsibilities while communicating honestly about timelines, challenges, and questions.
• Frequent physical activity, including extended periods of standing, walking, and bending; occasional sitting, kneeling, climbing, stooping, crouching, squatting, and balancing.
• Constant reaching between knee and shoulder level, frequent reaching below knee level and overhead.
• Occasional independent lifting up to 25 pounds, frequent pushing or pulling up to 40 pounds of force, and ability to safely transfer 50 pounds.

• Monitor the comfort and safety of the people served.
• Ensure medical, nutritional, and personal care needs are met.
