About The Position

The Direct Sales Representative is an outside sales role working independently in an assigned territory. The representative calls on small and medium-sized businesses across a variety of industries, meeting face-to-face with business owners, managers, benefits managers, decision-makers, and employees to present supplemental insurance products and services. The role includes individual client conversations and presentations to employee groups, which may include 50–100 or more people. The representative builds and maintains a book of business, balances prospecting and cold calls with warm leads and existing-client appointments, and manages a self-scheduled work week while reporting schedules and sales activity to the sales manager. Training is provided through virtual classroom instruction and hands-on work in the representative’s territory.
