About The Position
The Direct Care Aide provides compassionate and dignified care to residents, guiding them through activities of daily living. The role also involves building positive, compassionate connections with residents and their family members, participating in ongoing learning and development, and protecting the confidentiality and privacy of resident information. The aide performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Completion of a 40-hour DCA or PCA training course approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to serve with love, compassion, and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate and dignified care while guiding residents through activities of daily living.
- Connect with residents and family members in a compassionate and impactful manner to create a lasting, positive experience.
- Attend and participate in educational seminars, staff meetings, and other learning experiences.
- Comply with rules and regulations regarding the confidentiality and privacy of resident information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
