About The Position

Chartwells Higher Education is hiring a Director of Dining Service I to oversee the day-to-day operations and financial success of one or more foodservice locations at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. The role involves ensuring compliance with contract guidelines, Health Department regulations, and company standards for food quality, freshness, and presentation. The dining team is described as having a culture of excellence and collaboration. Company-paid campus parking is provided.

Requirements

Six or more years of operational food service management experience.
Knowledge of food and catering trends, including quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing, and presentation.
Demonstrated leadership ability and experience supervising and developing staff.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
Excellent customer service skills and dedication to high quality standards.
Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial reports.
Must be experienced with computers.
ServSafe® Certified.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise the hiring, training, and development of staff to maintain high standards of service and food quality.
Maintain client and customer satisfaction by consistently meeting food quality and customer service standards.
Prepare and complete daily, weekly, and financial reports, including reports on food and labor costs.
Ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards to protect customer health and safety.
Build and maintain strong client relationships so dining programs align with client objectives and support satisfaction and retention.
Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient dining operations.
