About The Position

The Dining Room Manager at The Montebello on Academy leads the dining team at a senior living community in Albuquerque. The role oversees service from the kitchen to ensure residents receive their food and beverage preferences, while maintaining a professional understanding of basic food offerings and menu content. It also ensures the restaurant is clean, stocked, and set up to meet residents’ expectations.

The position involves taking and serving meal orders, preparing dining and kitchen areas before and after meals, delivering room-service trays, and helping with kitchen or dishwashing duties when needed. The manager supervises servers, communicates staff assignments, and supports timely and safe meal service. The role requires enjoying work with older adults, effective communication in English, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Requirements

• Valid Food Handlers Permit.
• Ability to work in a team environment and work flexible shifts.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English to receive food or drink orders and respond.
• Enjoy working with the elderly and be able to accept constructive criticism.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and exhibit responsible behavior.

Responsibilities

• Take residents’ meal orders and serve meals correctly and efficiently using exceptional customer service techniques.
• Complete tasks to ensure dining room and kitchen areas are stocked and prepared to serve residents.
• Assist with setting up and cleaning the kitchen and dining room before and after each meal.
• Deliver meal trays to residents who request room service.
• Perform kitchen helper and dishwasher duties as needed.
• Assist with seating residents.
• Supervise servers to ensure safe and timely meal delivery.
• Communicate staff assignments clearly.
• Read, write, and speak English sufficiently to fulfill job requirements.
