About The Position

In simple terms, a Digital Reporter is responsible for recording and managing the official audio record of legal proceedings. You’ll use digital audio technology to ensure everything said during a proceeding is accurately captured, organized, and prepared for transcription. Hired candidates will complete training prior to start date. AAERT certification supported. Guidance provided for obtaining a State Notary Commission.

Requirements

  • Tech-savvy: Comfortable working with computers, software, and audio equipment.
  • Minimum typing speed of 55+ WPM (typing test required).
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a State Notary Commission (assistance provided; existing Notary is a plus).
  • Training and certification provided prior to start date for AAERT Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing Notary is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administering oaths and ensuring a clear, accurate record during depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Transporting, setting up, and operating computer and audio recording equipment for both in-person and remote proceedings.
  • Preparing audio files, exhibits, and related materials for transcription following each proceeding.
  • Performing administrative and support tasks when not assigned to legal proceedings.
