About The Position

The Digital Print Operator 2 operates inkjet, laser, xerographic, or offset duplicating printers. The role includes preparing jobs for printing by RIPing files or reviewing job instructions, setting up and releasing jobs from the print queue, and monitoring output for correctness and image quality. The operator may adjust image position, perforations, and folds, maintain production logs and delivery manifests, and order supplies as needed. This is a first-shift position. The operator is expected to understand standard equipment setups, adjustments, and operating characteristics, and to perform routine adjustments that are readily apparent and appropriate to the job requirements and equipment capabilities.

Requirements

Knowledge of standard equipment setups, adjustments, and operating characteristics.
Skill in performing standard adjustments and operating the equipment.
Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic equipment adjustments according to job requirements and equipment capabilities.

Responsibilities

Operate inkjet, laser, xerographic, or offset duplicating printers.
RIP files or review job instructions to prepare jobs for printing.
Set up, program, and release jobs from the print queue.
Maintain daily print job production logs and daily delivery manifests.
Adjust image position, perforations, and folds on paper as needed.
Monitor job output for correctness and image quality.
Order supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, blankets, rollers, paper, and tabs as needed.
Set up, operate, and perform routine adjustments to equipment according to job requirements and equipment capabilities.
