About The Position

The Digital Print Operator 2 operates inkjet, laser, xerographic, or offset duplicating printers. The role involves preparing print jobs by RIPing files or reviewing job instructions, setting up and releasing jobs from the print queue, and monitoring output for correctness and image quality. The operator may adjust image position, perforations, and folds; maintains production logs and delivery manifests; and orders print supplies as needed. This is a first-shift position.

Requirements

Knowledge of standard equipment setups, adjustments, and operating characteristics, with the skill to perform standard adjustments and operate the equipment.
Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to equipment according to job requirements and the equipment's operating characteristics and capabilities.
Ability to perform routine adjustments when the need for them is readily apparent.

Responsibilities

Operate inkjet, laser, xerographic, or offset duplicating printers.
RIP files or review job instructions to prepare jobs for printing.
Maintain daily print job production logs and delivery manifests.
Set up, program, and release jobs from the print queue.
Adjust image position, perforations, and folds on paper as needed.
Monitor job output for correctness and image quality.
Order supplies, including ink, chemical solutions, blankets, rollers, paper, and tabs, as needed.
