About The Position

The Digital Press Operator operates high-speed laser printing equipment and follows operational, safety, and quality control procedures under the direction of the Print Operations Shift Supervisor. This is an in-person third-shift position in Newington, Connecticut, scheduled Monday through Friday from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., with overtime opportunities on weekends.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of work experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds 10 times per hour.
Ability to move rolls weighing over 1,000 pounds by pushing, pulling, or sliding them into position; operators use a pneumatic or hydraulic lifting device.
Knowledge of PC computer systems.
Detail-oriented.
Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare materials, inspect quality, and operate roll-feed and laser-imaging equipment safely, efficiently, and at a high pace.
Follow job instruction sheets and job guidelines.
Inspect printed output for quality and accuracy, including form and print alignment, according to line-up sheet specifications and Quality Control Procedures.
Follow the production schedule and maintain production standards set by management.
Master the operation of any assigned digital print equipment.
Start and restart jobs and respond to console messages under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor and/or Production Leader.
Prepare accurate documentation, including meter readings on segment control sheets, 24-hour production logs, and receiver tickets.
Help maintain a clean working environment.
Comply with company rules and regulations.
Maintain the confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
Keep the manager or supervisor informed about activities and situations that may affect corporate or department goals and objectives.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel to help achieve department and company goals and objectives.
