About The Position

The Digital Platform Engineering Lead is accountable for architecting, building, and operating the foundational cloud-native platforms and digital capabilities that power ADM’s enterprise applications and Digital solutions. This role bridges deep technical engineering expertise with strategic thinking to ensure ADM’s platforms are scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with business objectives. The Digital Platform Engineering Lead will own the end-to-end design and delivery of Cloud infrastructure and platform services across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS deployment models. They will lead a team of cloud engineers, platform architects, and web application developers to build the engineering backbone that enables rapid development and deployment of digital solutions across ADM’s global business segments and corporate functions. The role will serve as the technical authority for all cloud and digital platform decisions, working in close partnership with Digital Solutions Leaders, Data & AI teams, Cybersecurity, and Enterprise Architecture to deliver a modern, integrated, and high-performance digital engineering ecosystem. Key competencies include deep expertise in cloud-native engineering, multi-cloud and hybrid deployment strategies, web application development, DevSecOps, and the ability to lead and influence global engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 12–15+ years of overall experience in IT, with at least 7+ years of hands-on experience designing and delivering cloud-native solutions.
  • Deep expertise in Cloud deployment models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) across major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Proven experience in web application development and architecture (modern frameworks, APIs, microservices, containerization).
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale Digital capabilities end-to-end — from platform engineering through product deployment.
  • Strong experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent), and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience leading and managing globally distributed engineering teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Multi-cloud or hybrid cloud experience strongly preferred.
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the design, development, and operationalization of ADM’s cloud-native platform strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise digital transformation goals across global segments and corporate functions.
  • Define and govern the enterprise cloud architecture across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models, establishing standards, patterns, and guardrails for secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud deployments.
  • Architect and deliver reusable, scalable web application frameworks and digital platform services (APIs, microservices, integration layers) that accelerate the delivery of digital capabilities across ADM.
  • Serve as the primary technical bridge between the Digital Solutions Leaders (business-facing) and the engineering delivery teams. Translate business requirements into robust, cloud-native engineering solutions, ensuring delivery excellence across the entire SDLC.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a globally distributed team of cloud engineers, platform developers, DevOps practitioners, and full-stack developers. Foster a high-performance engineering culture grounded in continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Own the design and implementation of ADM’s DevSecOps pipelines and platform engineering practices — including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), automated testing, and site reliability engineering (SRE) — to enable rapid, reliable, and secure software delivery.
  • Accountable for enterprise-wide platform performance, availability, and security. Establish SLAs, SLOs, and observability practices (monitoring, logging, alerting) to ensure mission-critical platforms meet business continuity requirements.
  • Partner with Finance and IT leadership to manage cloud infrastructure budgets, optimize platform costs through FinOps practices, and ensure maximum ROI on cloud and platform investments.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies — including serverless computing, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), edge computing, and AI/ML platform services — to continuously modernize ADM’s digital engineering stack.
  • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with key cloud and technology vendors (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, SAP). Lead vendor assessments, negotiations, and governance to ensure best-fit solutions and strong SLA performance.
  • Champion engineering best practices, platform reusability, and a product-centric approach to platform development, enabling teams to build, iterate, and scale digital solutions faster across the enterprise.
