About The Position

Michels is seeking a Digital Learning & Development Manager to lead the strategy, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of their digital learning ecosystem. This role involves overseeing the Learning Management System (LMS), e-learning development, instructional design, digital content strategy, vendor partnerships, learning analytics, reporting, and the evaluation of emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will blend expertise in learning and development with technology, creativity, and innovative learning practices to create engaging and scalable learning experiences that foster employee growth and enhance business performance. The position requires designing learner-centered digital learning solutions using instructional design best practices, adult learning principles, accessibility standards, and modern learning methodologies. Responsibilities include creating various digital learning formats, managing learning technology and vendor relationships, and evaluating learning effectiveness through analytics and reporting. This role will collaborate with various stakeholders to identify learning needs, recommend solutions, and lead digital learning initiatives. The successful candidate will champion innovation, contribute to the future of learning at Michels, and stay updated on trends in instructional design, learning technology, AI, and talent development. Essential skills include strong relationship-building, a consultative approach, and the ability to drive behavior change through practical learning experiences. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Leadership Development, Instructional Design, E-Learning, Learning Technology, or a related area (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Proven experience designing and developing end-to-end digital learning solutions
  • Experience managing an LMS and digital learning ecosystem
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and talent development practices
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including setting priorities, coaching others, and driving accountability
  • Experience managing learning vendors and external partners
  • Experience leading enterprise-level learning technology initiatives
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills with the ability to engage audiences at all levels
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and relationship-building capabilities
  • Proficiency with Articulate 360, including Storyline 360 and Rise is required
  • Candidates must be self-motivated, adaptable, and highly accountable, with the ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Learning and Development digital learning ecosystem.
  • Oversee the learning technology landscape, including the Learning Management System (LMS), e-learning development, instructional design, digital content strategy, vendor partnerships, learning analytics, reporting, and the evaluation of emerging technologies.
  • Design and develop learner-centered digital learning solutions by applying instructional design best practices, adult learning principles, accessibility standards, and modern learning methodologies.
  • Create e-learning, microlearning, video-based learning, assessments, and interactive learning experiences.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for learning technology and vendor partnerships.
  • Evaluate learning effectiveness, monitor engagement and adoption, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide actionable insights through analytics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development team members, business leaders, subject matter experts, and external partners to identify learning needs and recommend scalable solutions.
  • Lead digital learning initiatives from concept through implementation and evaluation.
  • Champion innovation and help shape the future of learning at Michels.
  • Stay current on trends in instructional design, learning technology, artificial intelligence, and the evolving talent development landscape.
  • Build strong relationships, adopt a consultative mindset, and create practical learning experiences that drive behavior change.
