Why is this role important? Note: This role focuses primarily on visual design across app, email, and marketing campaigns, with an emphasis on brand storytelling rather than product UX design. The Digital Designer plays a key role in creating high-quality digital creative across app, web, email, and marketing channels. This role blends strong visual craft with digital product thinking, working closely with copywriters, product teams, and marketing partners to deliver engaging and effective customer experiences. This is a hands-on role focused on concepting, designing, and producing digital assets while contributing to evolving design systems, templates, and creative workflows. This is a hybrid role with 2 days in the office at our Bathurst & Lakeshore office

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in digital design, creating digital marketing and product design assets.
  • Strong visual design craft including layout, typography, composition, and storytelling.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience working with design systems, components, and templates.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital design work across multiple channels.
  • Knowledge of digital design best practices including responsive design, image optimization, and accessibility.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable presenting work and explaining design rationale to stakeholders.
  • Open-minded and collaborative, with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Interest in exploring new creative tools including AI-assisted workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing for mobile platforms (iOS & Android) is an asset.
  • Experience working with platforms such as Jira and Coda considered an asset.
  • Experience in motion design is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead visual design from concept to completion across app, web, email, and marketing campaigns.
  • Create high-quality digital assets including in-app creative, marketing emails, and campaign visuals.
  • Participate in design sessions and contribute creative concepts and thoughtful visual solutions.
  • Work within and evolve brand and Figma systems including components, templates, and libraries to help scale creative production.
  • Partner closely with copywriters, designers, product teams, and marketing stakeholders throughout ideation and execution.
  • Present design solutions and articulate creative decisions to stakeholders.
  • Ensure designs are consistent with brand guidelines and maintain strong visual quality across all assets.
  • QA creative and copy assets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and production readiness.
  • Ensure digital products can be experienced by everyone by applying AODA design requirements and accessibility best practices.
  • Organize and maintain clean working files, including structured naming conventions, file organization, and asset management.
  • Balance and manage workload according to business priorities and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Build and prepare creative assets for production, including weekly marketing assets and campaign deliverables.
  • Explore and implement AI-driven tools, templates, and systems that help streamline workflows and increase creative efficiency.
  • Use customer insights, research, and performance data to inform design decisions and continuously improve creative work.
