About The Position

If you’re a web designer who values both exceptional visual design and intuitive user experiences, you’ll feel right at home at Interactive Strategies. From website design and brand development to multi-channel marketing campaigns, everything we create is grounded in strategic thinking, informed by discovery, research, and audience insight. As our new Digital Designer, you’ll play an active role in the strategy process—helping uncover meaningful client and user insights that shape thoughtful user experiences and compelling visual concepts. You’ll bring a strong aesthetic sensibility, an understanding of brand, and a passion for creating work that is both beautiful and effective. You’ll apply these skills to exciting, mission-driven clients looking to push boundaries, including WAMU, The World Bank, and Action Against Hunger.

  • UX and web design experience for 2-5 years.
  • Ability to maintain a personal website portfolio with a large collection of inspiring work samples.
  • Ability to design in a variety of styles.
  • Ability to execute unique-yet-functional solutions to websites’ most common problems.
  • Ability to create elegant mobile, responsive web designs.
  • Adept at developing logos and visual brand systems.
  • Ability to collaborate and easily participate in meetings with other departments, as well as clients.
  • Experience managing and mentoring more junior designers.
  • Ability to work with other teams, such as writers and strategists, on high-level creative concepts and pitching work to potential and existing clients.
  • Multi-dimensional, great at something else in addition to design skills (illustration, typography, motion design, front-end coding).
