About The Position

Interactive Strategies is seeking a Digital Designer who values both exceptional visual design and intuitive user experiences. In this role, you will play an active part in the strategy process, uncovering client and user insights to shape thoughtful user experiences and compelling visual concepts. You will bring a strong aesthetic sensibility, an understanding of brand, and a passion for creating work that is both beautiful and effective for mission-driven clients like WAMU, The World Bank, and Action Against Hunger.

Requirements

  • Passion and talent for web design.
  • 2-5 years of experience in UX and web design.
  • Maintain a website portfolio with a large collection of inspiring work samples.
  • Ability to design in a variety of styles.
  • Ability to execute unique-yet-functional solutions to websites’ most common problems.
  • Ability to create elegant mobile, responsive web designs.
  • Adept at developing logos and visual brand systems.
  • Collaborative and able to easily participate in meetings with other departments, as well as clients.
  • Multi-dimensional skills such as illustration, typography, motion design, or front-end coding.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing and mentoring more junior designers.
  • Great at something else in addition to design skills (illustration, typography, motion design, front-end coding).

Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in the strategy process, helping uncover meaningful client and user insights.
  • Shape thoughtful user experiences and compelling visual concepts.
  • Bring a strong aesthetic sensibility and an understanding of brand to create work that is both beautiful and effective.
  • Design in a variety of styles and execute unique-yet-functional solutions to common website problems.
  • Create elegant mobile and responsive web designs.
  • Develop logos and visual brand systems.
  • Collaborate and participate in meetings with other departments and clients.
  • Manage and mentor more junior designers (ideally).
  • Work with other teams, such as writers and strategists, on high-level creative concepts and pitching work to potential and existing clients.
  • Utilize multi-dimensional skills such as illustration, typography, motion design, or front-end coding in addition to design skills.
