About The Position

The Digital Automation Engineer 1 supports the production, quality assurance, and publishing of digital content across web and email channels. The role works extensively in enterprise content management systems and other digital publishing platforms to build, update, test, troubleshoot, and publish content while ensuring accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and compliance with established standards. It involves working with structured content models, templates, components, publishing workflows, and governance standards. Brightspot experience is highly desirable; experience with other established CMS platforms is also valuable. The position requires a strong foundation in HTML, including reviewing and troubleshooting markup, performing quality assurance, making production-level code adjustments, and working with email templates. It is not a front-end software engineering role, but the successful candidate must be comfortable reading, evaluating, and modifying HTML in a production environment. Working under the direction of a resource manager within Publishing Services, the engineer partners with project managers, editors, designers, developers, platform teams, and other publishing personnel. Work is assigned through task-management systems or directly by the resource manager for operational and process-improvement initiatives. The current work model is hybrid: the team works in the office every Monday and remotely for the rest of the week.

  • Strong working knowledge of HTML.
  • Experience producing, publishing, testing, or maintaining web content.
  • Experience performing quality assurance on digital content.
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent record of accurate work.
  • Ability to troubleshoot web, email, CMS, and template issues methodically and distinguish production problems from issues requiring technical escalation.
  • Ability to communicate technical and production issues clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with project managers, editors, designers, developers, platform administrators, and other stakeholders, and to work within established review and approval processes.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production demands and to balance speed, accuracy, and established standards.
