About The Position

The Digital and Design Student Assistant will aid the instructors of three to four concurrently running Digital Design oriented courses: ART 12000 2-D Design; ART 22500; Graphic Design I; ART 325/32700 Graphic Design II/III and ART 28000 Digital Studio in and out of class sessions. Requirements

  • Art Major, Art Minor, or Graphic Design Minor.
  • Completed ART 12000 and 22500.
  • Proves strong familiarity with Gannett 129 Digital Lab processes and protocols.
  • Knowledge of cameras and some software skills required (knowledge of printers, scanners, software/creative suite).
  • Reliability, clear communication, and strong attention to studio and equipment safety are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to those who have also completed ART 32500 and/or 28000.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the instructors in and out of class sessions.
  • Helps with demonstration preparation.
  • Helps keep a safe, clean, and well-organized studio environment.
  • Shows responsible and safe use of digital equipment (and analog equipment for those assisting ART 12000).
  • Routine cleaning and maintenance of Digital Studio Gannett 129.
  • General instructional support.
  • Assisting with inventory management and instructional materials.
  • Help faculty prepare course materials.
  • Assist with classroom activities, library research and image search.
  • Respectfully engage with students during class time.
  • Possibly mentor students.
  • Host tutoring sessions outside of class.
