About The Position
Encompass Health is hiring a Dietitian to support patient health and wellness through personalized nutrition care. The role includes assessing patients’ nutritional needs, developing and implementing dietary plans, educating patients about healthy eating, instructing patients on post-discharge diets, and monitoring nutritional status. Dietitians communicate with patients, physicians, and other care disciplines; evaluate nutrition referrals; document care in medical records; adapt menus for special dietary needs; conduct calorie counts; and review menus for nutritional adequacy. The position is advertised through a hiring event on Tuesday, November 10, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Cookeville, 1091 S Willow Ave., Cookeville, TN 38501. Requirements
- Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.
- State licensure is required.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited institution with a major in Food & Nutrition.
Nice To Haves
- Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- One year of clinical dietetics experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ nutritional needs and develop and implement dietary plans.
- Provide education on healthy eating habits and instruct patients on post-discharge diets.
- Monitor patients’ nutritional status.
- Communicate with and counsel patients according to physician orders and diet instructions.
- Communicate with physicians and other disciplines involved in patient care.
- Evaluate referral orders to determine the adequacy of nutrition intake methods.
- Document pertinent information in patients’ medical records according to established standards.
- Implement nutritional care plans, adapt menus, and assist patients with special dietary needs.
- Conduct calorie counts and make appropriate recommendations.
- Review, revise, and sign off on menus for nutritional adequacy.
