About The Position

The Dietary Supervisor oversees food services at a skilled nursing facility, with the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability needed to carry out assigned duties. The role supports a well-educated Food Services Department through timely in-service training and coordinates food services and activities with related departments. The supervisor provides reports and recommendations to the Dietitian and/or Administrator as needed and processes diet changes and new diets received from nursing services.

Requirements

• Six months of experience in a dietary position.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Ability to interpret and implement written or oral policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of special diets.

Responsibilities

• Develop, participate in planning, and schedule timely in-service training classes that teach employees how to do their jobs and support a well-educated Food Services Department.
• Coordinate food services and activities with related departments, including Nursing, Environmental, Activity, and Social Services.
• Provide written and oral reports and recommendations to the Dietitian and/or Administrator as necessary or required concerning Food Services Department operations.
• Process diet changes and new diets received from nursing services.
