About The Position

Springwoods Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced leader to serve as our Dietary/Food Services Manager. The Dietary Manager provides supervision and coordination of cooks and utility persons, aides to maintain high standards of quality food production, safety, sanitation and service in accordance with established policies and procedures and in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Springwoods Behavioral Health. The Dietary Manager is responsible for ordering, receiving and storage of goods and supplies. The Dietary Manager is responsible for coordination of special functions and in services events. The Dietary Manager coordinates repair of equipment in kitchen. The Dietary Manager prepares and directly oversees all food production for service to patients, staff and visitors. The Dietary Manager is responsible for containing costs and maintaining the departmental budget.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Certified Dietary Manager though ANFP (CDM, Cfpp), or completed within 6 months of hire
  • Serve Safe Manager Certificate through Serve Safe or acquire within the first 6 months of hire date
  • At least one (1) year experience as a Dietary Services or Restaurant supervisor, or a combination of education and experience relevant to position
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Experience ordering supplies, maintaining inventory levels, and budgetary compliance required.
  • Experience with healthcare food service, commercial kitchen equipment, operation and line cooking.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of healthcare dietary experience in supervisory role.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor quality improvement activities.
  • Manage dietary operations and personnel in accordance with hospital and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Provide continuing education.
  • Order food supplies ensuring adequate inventory.
  • Prepare schedules, counsel staff and complete performance appraisals.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients, peers, staff, and vendors.
  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
  • Conduct staff meetings to keep dietary staff informed.
  • Meet with management regarding department activities and coordinate project planning.
  • Participate in all department manager level meetings.
