About The Position

Lake Hope Dining Lodge has an immediate opening for an experienced, dynamic individual to fill our Food Services Manager position. This position is directly responsible for the oversight of all front of house food & beverage operations to include the restaurant, banquets and bar area. The Dining Lodge serves breakfast, lunch & dinner with seating for 100+ guests. This is a very busy, but rewarding position requiring a time commitment of nights, weekends and holidays to ensure that each event is executed completely as requested by the client. This position is expected to work the floor of the restaurant or catered events a minimum of 30 hours per week with up to 10 hours per week for management functions.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a Banquet Manager, Restaurant Manager or F&B manager, preferably in a casual dining setting.
  • Ability to work all shifts - days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent computer skills with full command of Microsoft Outlook, Publisher, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage and its preparations, trends, competition.
  • Strong knowledge of wine, liquor, beer and bartending to include creating special drink menus.
  • Strong knowledge of styles of service such as ala carte, buffet, casual dining, fine dining, quick service.
  • Knowledge of pertinent health regulations and liquor laws.
  • ServSafe and TIPS certifications required (available through the Company).
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to work with diverse groups of employees and guests
  • Ability to push, pull, carry a minimum of 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to lift loaded food tray with up to 10 meals above shoulder.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to bend at waist and perform repetitive foot and hand action.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in hospitality, food service or business management a plus.
  • Experience with Point of Sale systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all dining room, banquets and bar operations
  • Ensure that: The guest is greeted in the shortest amount of time.
  • Empty tables are cleared within the shortest possible time.
  • The Dining Room, Lounge, Banquet & Snack Bar shifts are properly staffed at all times.
  • The Dining Room, Lounge, Banquet & Snack Bar areas are clean in accordance with health department regulations.
  • Execute Banquet Events, Special Events and Holiday functions (includes weddings, annual events & holiday buffets)
  • Generates schedules for all front of house areas of Food & Beverage operations on time.
  • Ensure all employees are in the full Company provided uniform including name badges and are conducting themselves in a professional manner.
  • Constantly encourages teamwork, professionalism and creativity among staff.
  • Ensures that employees’ performance is evaluated in a timely manner using the company provided materials.
  • Develop and implement creative strategies to increase revenues and average check amounts.
  • Develop effective shift strategies and ensure daily, informative shift meetings are held.
  • Responsible for overall guest satisfaction and necessary follow-ups to include constant monitoring of guest satisfaction surveys, comment cards, emails, letters, phone calls.
  • Maintain health and safety standards within department for guests and employees.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities to include, but not limited to inventory control, payroll and personnel procedures.
  • Participate in property meetings and employee functions as required.
  • Approve all weekly time sheets /payroll, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Update time & attendance point sheets as needed.
  • Conduct monthly inventory for liquor
  • Responsible for all P&L’s and budget process.
  • Required to oversee timekeeping and labor and stay within company established labor percentages
  • Responsible for overall beverage purchasing, inventory and cost of sales.
  • Lead all F&B hiring and interviewing.
  • Lead all F&B training to include POS system, Cash Handling and FOH service training.
  • Coaching and counseling of employees and managers.

  • Salary range of $40,000 - $45,000, depending on experience
