About The Position

Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center is a 336-bed facility that is part of the seven-hospital Valley Health System, serving the Northwest Las Vegas community. The hospital provides a wide range of medical services and procedures, including comprehensive women's services, maternity services (labor and delivery, recovery rooms, antepartum and postpartum care, a newborn nursery, and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit). The Director of Dietary/Food Services is responsible for directing and managing the entire nutrition and food service department, which includes the cafeteria, patient food personnel, kitchen staff, support personnel, and, with the assistance of the Manager, Clinical Nutrition, patient nutrition and nutritional education.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in food service administration or equivalent experience.
Seven to ten years of progressively responsible food service administrative experience.
Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Food Handler Safety Training Card.
Must achieve Servesafe Certification within 90-day employment.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department.
Must meet one of the following criteria (or as otherwise defined by the State): Registered Dietitian
Must meet one of the following criteria (or as otherwise defined by the State): Qualified in the field of institutional management, nutritional sciences or hotel restaurant management
Must meet one of the following criteria (or as otherwise defined by the State): Completed an academic program in culinary arts
Must meet one of the following criteria (or as otherwise defined by the State): Certified as a dietary manager by the Dietary Managers Association and has additional work experience with medical and therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

Directs and manages the entire nutrition and food service department including the cafeteria, patient food personnel, kitchen staff, support personnel and with the assistance of the Manager, Clinical Nutrition, patient nutrition and nutritional education.
