About The Position
Cura Health is seeking a Cook to join the dietary team at CURA of Sandstone Skilled Nursing Facility. The role prepares nutritious and appealing meals for residents while meeting their dietary needs and preferences. The Cook contributes to residents’ well-being and satisfaction by preparing meals with care and attention in a healthcare setting. The position includes preparing meals according to dietary requirements and meal plans, supporting menu planning and special diets, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen. The Cook collaborates with dietary and nursing staff to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
Requirements
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and special diets typical in nursing home settings.
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to dietary requirements and meal plans for nursing home residents.
- Ensure food is prepared safely and meets quality standards.
- Assist in menu planning and accommodate special diets as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cooking equipment.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Collaborate with dietary and nursing staff to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
