Dietary Assistant - Skilled Nursing
About The Position
At Jefferson House, the Dietary Assistant obtains menu selections, preferences, and information about allergies and intolerances from patients of all age groups. The role ensures menus are accurate according to prescribed dietary orders, using appropriate information systems and communicating with dietitians, food service associates, cooks, nursing staff, and management regarding patient and resident care. Jefferson House provides long-term care and rehabilitation services to seniors in the greater Hartford area, with nursing, therapeutic recreation, spiritual, and social services focused on whole-person care.
Requirements
- Very strong communication skills to listen to needs and communicate information precisely across departments.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Basic computer skills, including email and internet.
- Able to meet deadlines and work well in a fast-paced work environment.
- Patient, customer-service-oriented approach to older adults.
