Dietary Aide – Senior Living
About The Position
Allegro Fort Lauderdale is seeking a dependable, service-minded Dietary Aide to support evening meal service in its senior living community. The role serves residents and guests by creating a welcoming dining experience and attending to their needs in a friendly, timely, and professional manner. The schedule is part-time, on varying days during the PM shift, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with pay of $16.00 per hour. The Dietary Aide serves meals and beverages, assists with dining room setup, table service, and cleanup, and supports the kitchen with food preparation and plating as needed. The role honors residents’ dietary preferences, restrictions, and special requests; maintains a clean and safe dining environment; and follows food safety and sanitation guidelines. Additional server duties include greeting and seating residents and guests, clearing tables according to company protocol, delivering and retrieving trays from residents’ apartments as needed, and labeling and dating food. Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a restaurant, hotel, or healthcare setting (required).
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must pay attention to detail, be flexible and adaptable, have safety awareness, and be a team player.
- Must have a positive criminal background screening.
- Must adhere to the company Drug Free Workplace policy; associates are subject to its requirements.
- Ability to work on one’s feet during evening meal service.
- Friendly, patient, service-oriented, dependable, team-oriented, and professional.

- Food serving experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve meals and beverages to residents in a courteous, attentive, dignified, and professional manner.
- Greet and seat residents and guests in a timely and professional manner, and interact with them in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Assist with dining room setup, table service, and breakdown after each meal.
- Support the kitchen team with food preparation and plating as needed.
- Honor residents’ dietary preferences, restrictions, and special requests.
- Clear glasses, silverware, dishes, and other items according to company protocol when residents and guests finish a course or meal.
- Maintain a clean dining room and wipe down and sanitize chairs, windows, floors, and work areas after every meal period.
- Deliver and retrieve trays to and from residents’ apartments as needed.
- Label and date all food.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines throughout each shift.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
