Under the direction of the Dietary Supervisor, the Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in preparing meals. The Dietary Aide works alongside the dietitian, Supervisor of Dietary, and Cook to assist in preparing meals for the patients, employees, and visitors of the hospital. Duties will include preparing and cooking foods, delivering food to certain areas and patients, and helping kitchen staff in maintaining a clean and sanitary workplace. At all times, work assignments will be determined by adjustment of patient census and current staff levels. The Dietary Aide will be assigned to work an 80-hour pay period and rotate every other weekend. The hours of work will be morning shift 5:30 am to 2:00 pm and evening shift 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. The Dietary Aide is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and the organization. Must be able to relate and work in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors. Attendance to yearly mandatory education is non-negotiable and is the responsibility of the employee to schedule and attend sessions.
