About The Position

The Dietary Aide helps prepare and deliver meals and assists with meal-service cleanup in accordance with regulatory standards and the established policies and procedures of the Department of Food & Nutrition Services. The role supports cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and infection-control practices while promoting positive customer service for residents, families, guests, and team members. Other duties may be required as needed. The position is non-exempt, with a work schedule assigned by the employer that may include some weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Requirements

• Food Handlers Certification must be presented during orientation or before working in the kitchen.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English, communicate effectively, and carry out verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to safely push, pull, lift, bend, kneel, and reach, including lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance in accordance with the FPACP attendance policy.
• Must have a ROCKSTAR attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the cook with food preparation and meal delivery, and/or collect and wash dishes and utensils according to shift assignments.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
• Handle chemicals and cleaning compounds properly, using personal protective equipment and following safety guidelines.
• Keep work areas clean and safe in accordance with sanitation, safety, and infection-control procedures.
• Complete scheduled cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing walls and equipment while using PPE as instructed.
• Use equipment safely and promptly report equipment that needs service or repair.
• Follow appropriate workplace behavior and the Department of Food & Nutrition Services dress code.
• Promote positive customer service with residents, family members, guests, and team members.
• Perform other duties as needed.
