About The Position

Focused Care at Westwood in Houston, Texas, is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide to assist residents with activities of daily living while promoting their independence and dignity. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Current Nurse Aide certification in the state of Texas.
Good standing on the Texas Nurse Aide Registry and Misconduct Registry.
Ability to understand, remember, and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
Ability to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate with residents.
Ability to safely push, pull, lift, bend, kneel, and reach, including lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

Ensure resident safety.
Bathe, shower, shampoo, shave, comb hair, dress, and provide nail care to assigned residents.
Follow the resident assignment schedule prepared by the charge nurse.
Lift, move, and transfer residents as required.
Answer call lights in a timely manner.
Assist or feed residents.
Keep residents clean and dry, including toileting and providing incontinence care.
Provide supportive, protective, and safe environments for residents.
Use electronic medical records for charting, including PointClickCare.
Perform other duties as assigned.
