About The Position

The Dietary Aide helps prepare and deliver meals and clean up after meal service in accordance with current regulatory standards and the established policies and procedures of the Department of Food & Nutrition Services. The role supports cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and infection-control standards, and promotes positive customer service with residents, family members, guests, and team members. The schedule is assigned and may include some weekends, evenings, and holidays. This is a non-exempt position.

Requirements

Must have a ROCKSTAR attitude.
Ability to read, write, and speak English; communicate effectively; and carry out verbal and/or written instructions.
Food Handlers Certification must be presented during orientation or before working in the kitchen.
Ability to safely push, pull, lift, bend, kneel, and reach, and lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance in accordance with the company attendance policy.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the cook with food preparation and meal delivery, and/or collect and wash dishes and utensils, according to shift assignments and cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Handle chemicals and cleaning compounds properly, using personal protective equipment and following safety guidelines.
Keep work areas clean and safe in accordance with sanitation, safety, and infection-control procedures.
Perform scheduled cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing walls and equipment, while wearing PPE as instructed by the supervisor.
Use equipment safely and promptly report equipment requiring service or repair.
Follow appropriate workplace behavior and the Department of Food & Nutrition Services dress code.
Maintain regular attendance in accordance with the company attendance policy.
Promote positive customer service with residents, family members, guests, and team members.
Perform other duties as needed.
