About The Position

The incumbent is responsible for performing daily diet office duties including accurately processing changes to the patient card file (diet changes, food preferences, admissions and discharges) in the dietary software system in a timely manner. They will print and distribute tray tickets, labels and reports as required. The role also involves maintaining statistical information, filing, and month-end records according to record retention guidelines. Effective communication with all staff through verbal, fax, or email is essential. The position participates in Quality Assurance Programs and may be required to assist with meal tray preparation and the transport of meal carts.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service preferred.
  • Experience with dietary software (CBORD Nutrition Services Suite) and excel spreadsheets.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively, with the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook: minimum 70% in each area).
  • Valid Food Handler certificate required.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently in a time sensitive environment.
