DIET CLERK (FULL TIME)
About The Position
Unidine is hiring a full-time Diet Clerk at Village North Retirement Community in Saint Louis, Missouri. Under the direction of the Patient Services Manager and/or Clinical Nutrition Manager, the Diet Clerk is responsible for patient menu management, data collection, and diet office functions as needed. The schedule is five days per week, Monday through Sunday, with varying hours and rotating weekends required. The pay range is $18.00 to $22.00 per hour. The role supports patients with menu selections that comply with prescribed diets and accommodates permitted alternatives for allergies, sensitivities, and cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences. It also involves preparing and distributing supplements and enteral nutrition products, maintaining required records, following confidentiality and infection-control policies, and supporting performance improvement efforts.
Requirements
- CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) certification required.
Responsibilities
- Distribute and collect menus.
- Assist patients with menu selections in compliance with prescribed diets, as assigned by a dietitian.
- Offer permitted menu alternatives in response to food allergies or sensitivities and cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
- Plan regular and modified menus based on the current diet manual.
- Prepare and distribute supplements, tube feedings, and enteral formula accurately and on time.
- May prepare, distribute, inventory, and manage human or donor milk and/or infant formula.
- Follow facility confidentiality, HIPAA, and patient-rights policies.
- Comply with federal, state, and TJC regulatory standards.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and logs.
- Follow facility and department infection-control policies and procedures.
- Participate in facility-wide and department Performance Improvement Programs and teams to improve processes and patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
