About The Position
Morrison Healthcare is hiring a part-time Diet Clerk at Palm Bay Hospital in Palm Bay, Florida. Under the direction of the Patient Services Manager and/or Clinical Nutrition Manager, the Diet Clerk is responsible for patient menu management, data collection, and diet office functions as needed. The role supports patient care by helping patients make menu selections that comply with prescribed diets and by coordinating menus, supplements, and related nutrition services. The position pays $16.00 to $17.00 per hour. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
- Hospital or customer service experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Distribute and collect menus.
- Assist patients with menu selections that comply with prescribed diets, as assigned by a dietitian.
- Offer menu alternatives permitted by prescribed diets, taking into account allergies or sensitivities and cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences when patients inquire or need additional selections.
- Plan regular and modified menus based on the current diet manual.
- Prepare and distribute supplements, tube feedings, and enteral formula accurately and on time.
- May prepare, distribute, inventory, and manage human/donor milk and/or infant formula.
- Follow facility confidentiality, HIPAA, and patient-rights policies.
- Comply with federal, state, and TJC regulatory standards.
- Complete required documentation, reports, and logs.
- Follow facility and department infection-control policies and procedures.
- Participate in facility-wide and department Performance Improvement Programs and teams to improve processes and patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
