About The Position

Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a Diet Aide to support meal service for patients, visitors, and staff. The role may involve unpacking and inspecting food stock; preparing, pouring, and portioning food; carrying trays and pots; delivering meals to patients; maintaining sanitary work areas and safe food handling; cleaning workstations and equipment; and washing dishes, pots, and silverware. The Diet Aide is expected to integrate the hospital’s mission and Guiding Principles into daily practice.

The hospital is a 44-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility in Prescott Valley, Arizona, specializing in stroke, spinal cord and brain injuries, orthopedic trauma, and other complex conditions. It also provides Home Health services in Northern Arizona.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent in education or experience.
• Food Handlers license.
• Knowledge of patient diets, safe food-handling requirements, and use of the Nutritional Care Manual.
• Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards.
• Effective organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.

Nice To Haves
