About The Position
Campbell Supply, the largest Freightliner dealership in the Tri-State Area, is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician / Mechanic. This is an opportunity to work with industry-leading products, advanced diagnostic technology, and a supportive team. Campbell Supply is a family-owned dealership founded in 1967 with seven locations, serving the commercial and emergency vehicle industries. They offer a range of product lines including Freightliner, Western Star, Isuzu, Spartan, and KME Emergency Vehicles. Technicians will have access to the latest OEM diagnostic tools, Freightliner factory training, and support for complex repairs. Experienced technicians (Level A) can mentor junior team members, expand their knowledge, and advance within the company network. The company culture emphasizes teamwork, respect, and innovation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a diesel technician fleet mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or equivalent.
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently diagnose and repair engine, aftertreatment, electrical, drivability, transmission, and chassis systems.
- Experience using OEM diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and drivers, demonstrating teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Participation in Continuous Improvement Initiatives and the DTNA Elite Support Program.
Nice To Haves
- Formal diesel training and OEM certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, document, and repair engine, transmission, and major component fault codes using company-supplied laptops and OEM software while following proper warranty procedures.
- Perform troubleshooting, service, and repair on all components as well as preventative maintenance and reconditioning.
- Demonstrate well-developed technical and troubleshooting skills with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Attend OEM and dealer training online as well as in-person when required.
