About The Position
Wind River Environmental is hiring experienced Diesel Technicians to maintain and repair a demanding fleet of vacuum trucks, pump trucks, roll-offs, and specialty equipment supporting environmental services. The role involves independent troubleshooting and hands-on repairs in both the shop and the field, including responding to road calls and breakdowns when needed. Technicians contribute to fleet reliability and safety initiatives and help improve maintenance operations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in diesel, fleet, or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability.
- Experience working on medium- or heavy-duty trucks and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- CDL (preferred but not required).
- Experience with fleet maintenance software.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, air brake systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and emissions equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on medium- and heavy-duty trucks and specialty equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and prioritize repairs to keep equipment operational.
- Respond to road calls and breakdowns when needed.
- Coordinate parts ordering and outside vendor repairs.
- Document repairs and maintenance using Fleetio fleet management software.
- Support fleet reliability and safety initiatives and improvements to maintenance operations.
- Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards.
