About The Position

Amerit Fleet Solutions is hiring a Fleet Technician/Mechanic in Charlotte, North Carolina, to perform maintenance and repairs on medium- to heavy-duty fleet vehicles. The position pays $40.00–$48.00 per hour, based on experience, with weekly pay every Friday. The schedule is either Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., or Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Technicians diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical problems, inspect vehicles for safety and compliance, document work, and maintain an orderly work area. The role takes place in a mobile and/or shop environment and may involve exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, oils, and greases. Physical tasks may include lifting heavy objects, accessing tight spaces, and bending, stooping, crouching, or crawling. Requirements

At least 5 years of hands-on experience performing gas and diesel vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
Ability to successfully pass a DOT physical if required for the role.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium- to heavy-duty fleet vehicles.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards.
Accurately document repairs and complete work orders.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment.
Follow safety procedures and company policies.
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations.
