Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, helping maintain clean locations and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. The apprenticeship is designed for people who are mechanically inclined but have no professional experience; Love’s provides training in diesel service and repair. Apprentices learn diagnostics and repairs for electrical, air conditioning and heating, wheel-end assemblies, air systems, air brakes, and charging systems, along with basic computer diagnostics, auxiliary component replacement, and parts lookup and acquisition. The role includes assisting customers with roadside services and learning preventative maintenance. Apprentices follow company safety policies and procedures and prioritize customer safety and satisfaction. The work requires lifting 75 or more pounds in close quarters and working in various temperatures. The schedule rotates between day and night as needed. Applicants must be able to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card, which Love’s pays for.
