About The Position

Love’s Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining clean places and friendly faces while interacting with customers and drivers. The apprentice program is intended for people who are mechanically inclined but may have no professional experience; Love’s provides training in diesel diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and related tasks. Apprentices assist customers with roadside services and learn preventative maintenance. They work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed and must be able to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation, paid for by Love’s.

Requirements

Mechanically inclined; professional experience is not required.
Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds while working in close quarters.
Ability to work in various temperatures.
Ability to obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with roadside services.
Learn preventative maintenance services.
Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
Learn air brakes diagnostics and repairs.
Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction while complying with company safety policies and procedures.
Work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.
Obtain a medical card through the Department of Transportation; Love’s pays for it.
