About The Position

Diesel Technician Apprentices work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining clean places and providing friendly service to customers and drivers. No professional mechanical experience is required; Love’s provides training through its apprentice program. Apprentices learn diagnostics and repairs across multiple vehicle systems, along with parts lookup and acquisition. The role also includes assisting customers with roadside services and learning preventative maintenance. The schedule rotates between day and night as needed.

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined; professional experience is not required.
• Ability to move and lift 75+ pounds while working in close quarters.
• Ability to work in various temperatures.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation medical card; the cost is paid by Love’s.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night as needed.

• Assist customers with roadside services.
• Learn preventative maintenance services.
• Learn electrical diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air conditioning and heating diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn wheel end assembly diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air system diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn air brakes diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn charging system diagnostics and repairs.
• Learn basic computer diagnostics and auxiliary component replacement.
• Learn parts lookup and acquisition.
• Prioritize customer safety and satisfaction and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
