About The Position

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC (MHC), North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group, is hiring a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. Under general supervision, this role performs heavy-duty mechanical repairs and receives on-the-job training through a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status. The position is designated safety-sensitive because it involves work on heavy equipment, machinery, and motor vehicles where a lapse in attention could cause injury, illness, or death.

Requirements

• At least three years of hands-on experience or graduation from vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications.
• Necessary tools to perform the position responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist with general mechanical duties.
• Gain experience, with minimal supervision, working on engine overhauls, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-ups, and general maintenance.
• Work on major components under close supervision.
• Troubleshoot minor problems.
• Attend training sessions and meetings.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area and properly handle company tools.
• Advise the Shop Foreman when additional repair work is necessary.
• Follow safe work practices and procedures, use required safety equipment, respond to safety suggestions, and seek assistance when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
