About The Position

WM is hiring a Diesel/CNG Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles and equipment serving its customers and communities. The role works on diesel equipment and, at some locations, CNG trucks, using modern tools and procedures. The normal work setting is a repair and maintenance shop at the Woburn, Massachusetts hauling site, with work also taking place in garage, shop, gas plant, and outside conditions.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, with Saturdays when needed, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The posting lists an expected base pay range of $28.20 to $42.30 per hour, with starting salary described elsewhere as $30 per hour depending on experience, and a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
• Perform vehicle safety checks.
• Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards, and follow established safety procedures.
