About The Position

WM is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair trucks and other equipment at its Moreno Valley, California hauling site. The role works in a repair and maintenance shop and services a range of diesel equipment, with CNG trucks at some locations. Mechanics use modern tools and procedures and follow Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs) and established safety procedures. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with occasional weekends. The stated expected base pay is $38.00, with a $2.00 shift differential. WM also offers an annual tool allowance of $1,100 and a boot allowance of $350.

Requirements

At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Must be over 18 years of age.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Ability to perform the position's physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a range of vehicles and equipment.
Estimate labor time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
Conduct vehicle safety checks.
Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times.
Assist senior Mechanics with project work.
Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards.
Perform all work according to established safety procedures.
