About The Position
WM is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel vehicles and equipment that support the company's collection and environmental services. The mechanic uses modern tools and procedures and may work on CNG trucks at some locations. The normal setting is a repair and maintenance shop at WM's Campbellton, Florida site, with work both indoors and outdoors.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
- Estimate the time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
- Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
- Respond to emergency service calls for breakdowns.
- Perform vehicle safety checks.
- Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times.
- Complete project work.
- Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards, and follow established safety procedures.
